German tractors - 100 years shaping the land of Finland. Already in the 1920s, the first Lanzi milling machines were seen in Finland working on the land. Many people remember grandma's Porsche - that kind of two-cylinder tow truck. Many older people remember seeing a big four-wheel-drive MAN tractor pulling a vibratory roller at road construction sites. More experienced enthusiasts also know Hanomag, Güldner, Normag and Ritscher. Between the turn of the 1960s and 1970s, German tractors were rare in Finland. It was known that there is a large tractor industry in Germany.

Several different German brands have been brought to Finland over the years. A surprising number of old German tractors have been preserved thanks to enthusiasts. This says something about the quality of German tractors - especially since many of them have been restored already when parts could not be ordered through the wonderful world of the internet. The book written by Pekka Myyry comprehensively tells about the time when German tractors started coming to Finland - without forgetting to tell about their present day."
